The pavilion for Milan Expo 2015 which theme was "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, was designed to host the Southeast Asian’s food exposition. Nature uses only the energy it needs so why not getting inspired by the most amazing and impressive of the architectures in nature: the spider web. This imitation of the models, systems, and elements of nature, called biomimicry, aims to obtain a smart architecture that is inspired by biological entities and processes. For this it was necessary to study the spider web in the macro, micro and nano scale. Modelling with Autodesk MAYA was crucial to simulate the spider silk and guide a digital process.
